Family Trip to Montana

I think as business owners we tend to forget how important it is to take a break. This past week I went to Montana with my family and accidentally took the whole week off. I had intended to shoot while I was there, but when my camera fell out of the car and needed repairs I took that as a sign – oops!

But It’s amazing what a difference it’s made since being home, I feel rejuvenated and ready to rock again. I feel like my creative juices are flowing and that I can do anything!

I tend to forget it is okay and actually very necessary to take time off. Take a day... a week! After all, isn't that why we run our own business? To have that freedom to spend time with our family, have the freedom to go and do?

Yet, I think we forget and lose sight of what is important sometimes. So, this past week I hung out with my family, my grandparents, niece, my in-laws, my husband and my daughter.

We went hiking in the mountains, splashed in the lake with friends, and went shopping with some of my oldest girlfriends! It was just so fun being able to relax for a whole week and not worry about work.

To my surprise, things didn’t fall apart while I was gone, ha!  My clients totally understand and respect the fact that I’m taking time for me and my family.

So, if you feel burnt out and you think you need a vacation this is your sign to take one! Go recuperate so that you can come back and do your best work
